Digital PR and Link Building
Coverage earned with stories worth publishing, and links built in the open: research-led pieces, outreach to the journalists and editors for whom they are relevant, link profile and gap analysis, and reporting that shows exactly where each placement appeared and how each link is attributed.
What the work covers
Four Stages From Story to Report
-
Research-led stories
We look for angles in your data, your market and public sources that a journalist would want to cover on merit: original analysis, comparisons, seasonal and regional pieces.
Deliverable: a story calendar with the research behind each idea and the outlets it suits.
-
Relevant outreach
Targeted lists of journalists and editors who cover the topic, personalised pitches and a clear reason why the story matters to their readers. No mass mailing.
Deliverable: outreach lists, pitch records and response tracking.
-
Editorial coverage
Stories placed on their merits, with your brand or section credited and linked at the publication's discretion. Editorial coverage is never guaranteed and never bought under another name.
Deliverable: coverage log with publication, date, URL and context of each mention.
-
Placement reporting
Every placement is recorded with its type, cost where applicable and link attributes, so you can audit the work and answer any question about how a link was obtained.
Deliverable: a monthly placement report with link attributes and disclosure status.
Link building
Link Building, Done in the Open
Links are a by-product of work worth citing and relationships worth having. We audit what a site already has, find where competitors are cited and it is not, create assets that earn references, and record every placement with its type and attributes.
- Link profile audit. What links to the site today, from where, with which anchors and attributes, and what looks risky or out of place.
- Competitor gap analysis. The sources and story types that cite competing sections but not yours, ranked by relevance rather than by raw metrics.
- Linkable assets. Data studies, comparison tools, glossaries and market guides that journalists and editors reference of their own accord.
- Outreach and relationships. Personalised pitches to relevant publications, follow-ups handled by people who know the topic, and a record of every conversation.
- Internal and cross-section linking. Linking rules between a review section and the rest of a publisher's site, agreed with the publisher and documented.
- Clean-up and attribution. Review of harmful links with disavow where warranted; paid or sponsored placements marked
rel="sponsored"orrel="nofollow".
Link attribution
How Paid and Earned Placements Are Marked
Earned editorial coverage is exactly that: the publication decides whether and how to link. Where a placement is paid, sponsored or part of a commercial arrangement, the content is labelled as such and the link carries rel="sponsored" (or rel="nofollow" where the publication requires it). This is how search engines ask paid links to be qualified, and it is the only way we work.
Because of this, we do not promise the transfer of ranking signals, “dofollow” links or any specific effect on rankings. Link marking is one part of doing the work correctly; it does not by itself settle questions about the quality or placement of the content around it.
- Earned coverage
- Placed on merit. Linking is the publication's choice. Recorded in the coverage log with context.
- Sponsored or paid placement
- Labelled as sponsored. Links carry
rel="sponsored"orrel="nofollow". Cost recorded in the report. - Partner section placement
- Within a publisher partnership, commercial placements follow the publisher's approved categories and rules, with the relationship disclosed.
